The "BRANDS WASTE" application aims to encourage brands to adopt greener packaging and to raise public awareness of the issues of plastic pollutionUsers of the application take photos of abandoned waste in the wild with visible marks.The photo is then shared on the MED Expedition site and displayed on a map with the geolocation of the waste.An email is sent to the brand ownerto inform him that a waste bearing his brand name has been located in the environment and by offering recommendations to improve his packaging.The objective of this action is twofold:• Lobby brands with citizens to limit the number of packaging and over-packaging as well as to improve its quality.• Encourage brands to strengthen consumer awareness messages on the environmental impacts of abandonment and the need to sort this packaging.
